Dock door problems we fix
- Broken springs and cables — on high-cycle doors these wear out far sooner than on home doors.
- Bent panels and tracks from forklift and truck impacts.
- Doors off track after a hit.
- Operator (motor) failures on motorized dock doors.
- Worn seals and weather stripping that let in cold, rain and pests.
Why dock doors wear out faster
A home door might cycle a few times a day. A busy dock door can cycle dozens of times, so springs and rollers reach the end of their life much sooner. Planning for that — replacing worn parts on a schedule instead of waiting for a failure — keeps a dock running.
Repair or replace a dock door?
Most dock doors are repaired: springs, cables, rollers, tracks and individual panels are all replaceable. Replacement makes sense when several panels are bent beyond repair, parts are no longer available, or the dock is being changed — a different size opening or a switch to a different kind of door.

Dock door questions
Can you come before or after our shipping hours?
Often, yes — tell us when the dock can be closed. Night, Sunday and holiday visits carry a $75 surcharge, and we're closed for Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
How often should a loading dock door be serviced?
At least once a year, and more often for doors that cycle all day. A service visit checks springs, cables, rollers, tracks and safety devices.
Do you repair dock door seals?
Yes. Worn bottom seals and weather stripping let in cold air and water; replacing them is a quick repair.
