How much does commercial garage door repair cost on Long Island?
A commercial service call starts at $75, and rolling gate repair starts at $275. Commercial doors vary much more than home doors — size, weight, motor type and how the door is mounted all change the job — so we look first and give you a written price before any work starts.
| Commercial service | Starting at |
|---|---|
| Commercial service call | $75 |
| Rolling gate repair | $275 |
New commercial doors, gates and motors are quoted after we measure, because no two openings are the same.
Storefront rolling gates
A rolling gate takes a beating: it goes up and down at least twice a day, sits outside in snow, salt and summer heat, and gets yanked on when it sticks. The problems we see most:
- The gate is hard to lift or drops on its own. The spring inside the barrel at the top has weakened or broken. This is the one part you should never try to adjust yourself — it is under heavy tension.
- The gate goes up crooked or catches on one side. A slat is bent or the bottom bar is out of line with the guides.
- The motor hums but the gate doesn't move. Often the motor, the brake or the limit settings — sometimes just a tripped safety.
- The lock or the bottom bar is damaged after a break-in attempt or a delivery truck backing into it.
Overhead doors and dock doors
Sectional overhead doors in warehouses and service garages open many more times a day than a home door, so springs and cables wear out on a much shorter cycle. Signs that a commercial door needs service soon:
- It opens slower than it used to, or the motor strains near the top.
- One side lifts before the other, or the door shakes in the tracks.
- Cables look frayed near the bottom brackets.
- It reverses before reaching the floor, or won't stay open.
A door that is fixed when it starts acting up costs far less than one that comes down off its tracks in the middle of a delivery.
Repair or replace a commercial door?
Most commercial doors can be repaired: springs, cables, rollers, sections and motors are all replaceable. Replacement makes more sense when the door is badly bent from an impact, when parts for an old model are no longer made, or when the opening is changing — for example, a wider entrance or a switch from a sectional door to a rolling door. We tell you which way we'd go and why, and you decide.
Do you need an appointment outside business hours?
Many businesses can't have a door open to the street during the day. Tell us when the work has to happen and we'll do our best to fit it in. A surcharge of $75 applies to night, Sunday and holiday visits.
We're closed for Shabbat and Jewish holidays. On Fridays we close 2 hours before Shabbat. After Shabbat and holidays end, we answer the phone and help with urgent problems when a technician is available.

Commercial garage door questions
How often should a commercial overhead door be serviced?
At least once a year, and more often for doors that cycle many times a day. A service visit checks springs, cables, rollers, tracks and the safety devices, and catches worn parts before they fail.
Can a broken rolling gate spring be fixed, or does the whole gate need replacing?
In most cases only the spring needs replacing, not the gate. The spring sits inside the barrel at the top, and replacing it is a job for a technician because of the tension it holds.
Can a manual rolling gate be motorized?
Yes, in most cases a motor can be added to an existing gate, as long as the gate and its guides are in good shape. We check the gate first and give you a written price for the motor and installation.
Do you work on loading dock doors?
Yes. We repair and replace dock doors, including their springs, cables, tracks and openers.
Can you work after we close for the day?
Often, yes — tell us the time that works for your business. Night, Sunday and holiday visits carry a $75 surcharge.
